Methodology

How this calculator works

The calculator uses a reducing-balance amortisation formula. It converts the annual rate into a monthly rate, estimates the monthly instalment for the selected term, then simulates optional extra monthly payments to estimate earlier payoff. It adds an admin-fee estimate separately and compares the instalment plus existing debt with monthly income for an affordability view.

Worked example

Reading the result

For a SAR 100,000 loan over 60 months at 6% APR, the calculator estimates a fixed monthly instalment using the reducing-balance formula. Extra monthly payments reduce the simulated payoff time and total interest.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Does this guarantee loan approval?+

No. It is only a repayment and affordability planning calculator. Approval depends on bank policy, credit profile, income and regulatory requirements.

What formula does it use?+

It uses a reducing-balance amortisation formula, which is more realistic than dividing principal plus interest evenly by hand.

Can extra payments be tested?+

Yes. Enter an extra monthly amount to see a simulated shorter payoff period and lower total interest.

Are fees included?+

The calculator includes a simple admin-fee percentage so the total cost estimate is more useful than a basic monthly payment only.
