Methodology

How this calculator works

The calculator separates base monthly salary, taxable allowances, non-taxable monthly benefits, 13th month pay and bonus income. It estimates employee SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG deductions, applies the ₱90,000 13th month and bonus exemption, calculates taxable compensation with progressive Philippine compensation tax bands, then converts the annual tax into a payroll-period take-home estimate.

Worked example

Reading the result

If salary is ₱60,000 per month with 13th month pay, the result separates employee SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, exempt 13th month/bonus treatment, taxable compensation, monthly tax estimate, net take-home pay and employer payroll cost.

Accuracy checklist

Validate your Philippines estimate

  1. 1Separate base cash salary, bonus, overtime, taxable benefits and employer-paid items before calculating. Use the correct pay frequency and Advanced 2026 payroll planning estimate setting, and do not subtract an employer contribution from take-home pay unless it is genuinely withheld from the employee.
  2. 2Compare gross pay, taxable pay, employee deductions and net cash as separate result lines. This makes it easier to find whether a difference comes from income tax, a capped contribution, an optional deduction or the conversion between annual and pay-period amounts.
  3. 3Check the Philippines estimate against an actual payslip and BIR — compensation income tax table. Payroll calendars, cumulative withholding, rounding, benefits, arrears and one-off payments can create period-by-period differences even when the annual method and inputs are reasonable.
  4. 4Save the inputs, selected options and calculation date with the result. If the estimate informs a payment, return, contract or application, rerun it when the Advanced 2026 payroll planning estimate rules or your underlying figures change and compare the updated breakdown with the earlier version.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Does this include 13th month pay?+

Yes. You can enter 13th month pay separately, and the calculator applies the entered ₱90,000 13th month/bonus exemption before estimating income tax.

Can it handle taxable and non-taxable benefits?+

Yes. Monthly taxable allowances are included in taxable compensation, while entered non-taxable benefits are shown in cash flow but excluded from taxable compensation.

Are SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG included?+

Yes. The tool estimates employee deductions and also shows employer-side payroll cost for planning. Agency tables and payroll setup can still create differences.

Can I calculate net-to-gross?+

Yes. Switch calculation mode to target monthly take-home and the tool estimates the gross monthly salary needed.

Can I compare payroll withholding?+

Yes. Enter tax already withheld to see a simple refund or balance-due view against the annual tax estimate.
