Methodology

How this calculator works

The calculator measures service between joining and last-working dates, subtracts unpaid leave days entered by the user, and converts service into years. It applies a planning model of 15 wage-days per year for the first five years and 30 wage-days per year after that, with an editable cap. It then adds leave encashment, notice pay and unpaid salary and subtracts final deductions.

Worked example

Reading the result

With KWD 800 wage base and about six eligible years of service, the default model gives 75 wage-days for the first five years and 30 wage-days for the next year. At KWD 26.667 per day, indemnity is about KWD 2,800 before leave, notice or deductions.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Why does the calculator use exact dates?+

Exact dates avoid rounding a job history to a simple year count. The calculator measures service by days and applies the selected indemnity model proportionally.

Can I change the 15-day, 30-day and cap values?+

Yes. The defaults are shown for planning, but the calculator allows edited values where a contract or verified rule uses a different basis.

Is the result guaranteed?+

No. Final entitlement can depend on worker category, contract terms, reason for leaving and official interpretation.

Why include leave and deductions?+

A useful final-settlement estimate should show whether the total comes from indemnity, leave, notice, unpaid salary or deductions.
